Hello,
After getting more interested in history I have decided to take a look at the British Empire. When I was in school we did the Industrial Revolution, Welsh history, and Nazi Germany plus a few others. Is the empire taboo? Is it anti-English or anti-British? Most people will probably only know about Michael Cain calling "thousands of 'em". 
After having to sell the virtues of Edinburgh and its glory days (not something I dispute) its important to have a bit of balance. I think the Brits need a bit of balance as well when we judge the US on its imperial adventures.
